Alberta is home to a thriving Indigenous business community, with many entrepreneurs seeking to launch successful ventures in a variety of industries. To support this growth, the province is establishing business incubators specifically designed to meet the needs of Indigenous entrepreneurs. These incubators will offer culturally sensitive mentorship, training, and resources to help launch successful businesses and promote economic reconciliation through increased Indigenous business ownership. To be eligible, applicants must be Indigenous individuals or organizations with a viable business concept. Unlike neighboring British Columbia, Alberta requires incubators to be located in areas with high concentrations of Indigenous populations, such as Edmonton and Calgary. ## Operations in Alberta's Indigenous Business Incubators The incubators will provide a range of services, including business planning, financial management, and marketing support. Alberta's Ministry of Indigenous Relations will work closely with incubator staff to ensure that programs are tailored to the specific needs of Indigenous entrepreneurs.
